Have you ever had a conversation with someone and walked away feeling drained or grumpy? Or perhaps stood close to someone and felt like something was a little off about that person? As energetic beings, we can be affected by everything and everyone around us. If we are not careful, we can start to absorb other people’s energies, for better or worse. For myself, I like to use Reiki to maintain my energy hygiene.
Clearing unwanted energy
Many clients come to me saying that they would like to learn to protect themselves from unwanted negative energy. There are certainly some things we can do to shed ourselves of unwanted vibes. One strategy I like to use is to run my hand over my head (without actually touching) and say the word ‘CLEAR’ out loud. When I do this, I often feel tingles running down my body and I visualise all unwanted energies melting away. You can do this when you’re at work or in a public place, as its quick and easy, and won’t draw any unnecessary attention.
Reiki for energy hygiene
If you’re at home, there are other things you can do to clear unwanted energy. Try having a shower, smoking sage or Palo Santo , or spritzing room or body spray over yourself and your house. These are relatively quick and easy ways to rid yourself of any negative energy that seems to be building up. However, if you are looking for a full reset and deep energy cleanse, try Reiki. It is one of the best ways to clear up your energetic body, and bring yourself back in balance. Reiki is a powerful energy healing experience, and can bring harmony not only to your body but your mind and soul as well.
Energy hygiene for healing professions
As a yoga teacher and Reiki healer, its imperative for me to keep my energy balanced and fresh. I need to continue to clear away any energy that is not my own. For people in professions such as teaching, nursing, and healing, energy hygiene is vital. If we arrive at work feeling tired, mentally drained and energetically fatigued, we will not be able to give our best. Our clients can feel our lower vibration. In order to stay fresh, calm and clear, having regular Reiki healings can help to maintain a balanced body and mind.
