So how exactly does Reiki work and can it help anxiety?
Reiki is Japanese for ‘intelligent or universal energy’ and works under the belief that everything is energy. Our body, thoughts, emotions, situations and experiences are also made up of energy. Every day, our energy is affected by the people around us, our food and drink, and the activities and work that we do. Everything has an impact for better or worse. However, it is the traumas or significant life events in our past that have usually created a blockage in our energy body. These life events can have huge impacts on the way our energy travels through our body. When our energy gets stuck or blocked, this can then manifest into emotional and mental dis-ease such as anxiety.
Reiki treats you as a whole
Most of the time in Western medicine, the go to is to simply treat the presenting symptom. However, Eastern medicine and Reiki treat the body as a whole. When you receive a Reiki healing, the practitioner will channel Reiki energy into you, helping to shift any blockages. Once your energy is moving more freely, you will start to come back into balance, and naturally heal yourself.
