A Call To Change

A Call to Change — Are You Ready?

A call to change is coming…are you ready? There’s an inner invitation buzzing beneath the surface, whispering, “It’s time.” But will you listen?

As we move toward the end of the year, the collective energy feels strong. So many people are sensing big shifts coming—changing jobs, moving homes, ending or beginning relationships, even feeling called to relocate interstate or overseas. It’s like the energy is rearranging itself for a new chapter. I’ve felt it too.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting deeply on what I truly want for myself. I don’t have all the answers yet, but something within me is shifting. It’s subtle, but it’s there—a quiet knowing that something new is coming, for my highest good.

Why Change Feels Unsafe

Most of us resist change—even when we know it’s needed. The mind and body crave the familiar. The ego loves to know what’s coming next, because if it can predict the future, it can feel safe. But change threatens that illusion of control. As soon as we step toward the unknown, the ego mind starts whispering doubts and fears, trying to pull us back to what’s comfortable.

This resistance isn’t just mental—it’s physical too. When the ego feels unsafe, it signals our nervous system to switch into protection mode. Some of us push back and even lash out (fight), some withdraw and even ghost (flight). Some people-please to try and not rock the boat (fawn), and others freeze and shut down altogether.

These are all deeply human responses. It’s simply our body’s way of saying, “I don’t feel safe.” But growth and safety can’t always live in the same place. If we want to evolve, we need to learn how to breathe through the fear and move forward anyway.

Letting Go — The Hardest Part of Change

With every change comes letting go, and that’s often the hardest part. Letting go of what has been, of the familiar faces and places, of the roles we’ve played and the versions of ourselves that no longer fit. Sometimes we’re asked to release things we still love, or that once gave us great comfort. Other times, we’re letting go of something we’ve outgrown, but it still feels painful to close the door.

It’s a strange dance between grief and excitement—the sadness of what’s ending and the curiosity for what’s coming next. Trusting our instincts becomes essential here. Sometimes we just have to take a deep breath, let go, and jump—allowing the universe to catch us. It might not be easy, and it’s rarely straightforward, but once we decide and take action, the universe always seems to rise up and meet us halfway.

The Body Keeps the Story

Our bodies often register change long before our minds catch up. Have you ever noticed tension in your shoulders or stomach, even when you thought you were relaxed? Energy gets stored in the body, especially when we resist change. That’s why practices like Reiki healing, breathwork, and meditation are so powerful. They help us unwind the energetic tension we didn’t even know we were carrying.

In my Melbourne Reiki & Wellness practice, I often see clients going through big transitions—career changes, relationship shifts, spiritual awakenings. During a Reiki session, emotions may rise to the surface, or the body might finally release what it’s been holding onto. Reiki creates a safe space for that unwinding. It supports the nervous system, brings balance to the mind, and restores clarity to your energy field.

Meeting Resistance with Compassion

As we step into new territory, resistance will appear in many forms—self-doubt, fatigue, distraction, or sudden bursts of emotion. The ego can be clever in the ways it tries to keep us small. But these sensations aren’t signs that you’re failing; they’re signs that you’re expanding.

When we meet resistance with compassion instead of frustration, it softens. When we stay connected to practices like Reiki and meditation, we remember that we’re safe to grow. Change will always test us—it pushes on our old edges and asks us to trust what we can’t yet see. But the more we breathe through it, the stronger we become. Over time, the things that once terrified us become our new normal. The old ceiling becomes the new floor.

Trust the Winds of Change

If you’re feeling that stirring too—that quiet whisper that something in your life is ready to shift—know that you’re not alone. This is a powerful time of year to release the old and open to the new. Whether you’re seeking clarity, grounding, or courage to follow your intuition, Reiki energy healing can help you reconnect with your inner guidance and trust the path unfolding ahead.

At Melbourne Reiki & Wellness, I support people through times of transition with Reiki sessions and courses designed to calm the mind, balance the body, and awaken the soul. Whether you’re ready to receive Reiki or to learn Reiki yourself, it’s all part of answering that inner call to change.

The winds are here, and they’re calling you forward. The question is—are you ready to say yes?
