Wellness Retreat in the Yarra Valley!

Wellness Retreat in the Yarra Valley 14-16th October 2022! This is going to be a restful, relaxing and restorative weekend away with myself and Cat (Reiki healer). Think a beautiful weekend full of yoga, meditation, Reiki healing, workshops, and even a special sound bath healing with Steph Jackowski!

Why go on Retreat?

Going on a Retreat is a way of giving yourself permission to finally switch off! We are plugged in all the time, to our phones, computers, TVs, and even each other. Sometimes we go to a yoga class, or have a massage, but one hour of the day is not nearly enough to truly switch your nervous system off, and allow your mind, body and spirit to actually heal. We are so used to being in sympathetic nervous system mode (fight and flight). We are familiar with go, go, go, and often find it difficult to actually rest. There is a social and collective mindset of ‘busy is good’, or ‘rest when you’re dead’, or ‘slacking off is being lazy and that is bad’. There is so much judgement around rest and taking time off when actually, that’s exactly what our bodies need the most.

Benefits of a Wellness Retreat

The benefits of going on a Retreat is that you have space and time to detach from your everyday life. You can unplug from your every day reality, and start to really notice how you feel. Are you wired? Nervous? Anxious? Worried or stressed that you’re missing out on something or falling behind on work? All these things give us insight into the real state of our bodies.

Another benefit of going on Retreat is that you will meet like-minded people, who are interested in the same things you are! Whether that be yoga, meditation, Reiki, or simply health and wellbeing, you never know what connections you might make. In addition, you might learn something new from someone, be inspired by someone else, or help make a difference in some way to a fellow Retreater. You never know who you will meet and the stories you will find out on Retreat. It can be motivating, inspiring, and mind-opening to say the least.

Retreats are expensive

Many people might think going on Retreat is expensive, but it’s interesting to notice what you will happily spend money on without thinking about it! Think of all those coffees and expensive dinners and wine. Or how about the clothes, shoes, bags or accessories? Maybe it’s beers at the pub, betting on the races, or buying a tattslotto ticket each week. These things people spend mindlessly on, yet hesitate when spending money on their health, mindset and wellbeing.

There’s a saying you either pay now or later! Investing in yourself for a better future is far better than paying for surgeries, medicines, or care later on. There’s another saying ‘do something today that your future self will thank you for!’ Maybe the best thing you can do for youself (and your family) is invest in your health and wellbeing. The effects will not just change you! When you are in a better state of mind, body and spirit, you’re friends, family and work colleagues will notice too! It’s amazing how you can make a real difference in people’s lives, just by being the best version of yourself that you can be.
