Clearing Negative Energy
Do you ever feel exhausted, drained, or emotional for no apparent reason? Chances are you have absorbed negative energy and emotions from other people around you. Maintaining your energy field can have huge positive impacts on your mind, emotions, physical body and your overall wellbeing. Clearing negative energy through Reiki healing, sage, or other energy techniques, is key to feeling lighter and more like yourself again.
What is negative energy?
Negative energy is low vibrational energy. Everything is energy, including our thoughts, emotions, physical body, and energy field. Energy ranges from high vibrational (positive or high consciousness), all the way down to low vibrational (negative or unconscious). No energy is ‘good’ or ‘bad’, it’s simply a frequency that can be measured and felt.
Why is it important to maintain a high frequency?
Maintaining a high frequency helps you feel happier, lighter and more vibrant. You’ll have more energy to take action throughout the day, you’ll think clearly and be able to make better decisions. If you are low vibrational, it makes life so much harder. Brain fog, exhaustion, illness or dis-ease and negative emotions can weigh heavily, and end up causing looping negative thoughts too. This is not fun for anyone!
Emotional energy
Emotions are energy-in-motion. If we are feeling happy, light, excited, grateful or joyful, these are positive emotions and have a positive impact on our energy. When we feel these emotions, it raises our vibration and frequency, and we feel good. If we feel angry, sad, annoyed, frustrated, jealous, anxious or depressed, these are examples of negative emotions. They drain our energy, and we feel tired, sluggish, unmotivated and heavy as a result.
Physical energy
Physical energy can be positive or negative too. When we are full of energy, we are vibrant and active. When we are exhausted, tired, burnt out or in physical pain, we have low physical energy. This impacts our overall frequency and vibration too. Things like exercise and sex can also use up our physical energy. There is a fine line between overdoing it and draining your physical energy, and enjoying these activities as a way to boost your physical energy and mood. Finding a balance is important for maintaining a high vibration and frequency.
Mental energy
We all know what it’s like to overthink, feel anxious and worry! These things will burn through your mental energy, block your intuition, impact your sleep, and your ability to recover. If we can practice mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, and have adequate down time to rest and play, these things can boost your mental energy. Having time to practice creativity, and do something outside of work helps enormously to raise your mental energy to a higher frequency.
Aura
We all have an aura (energy field) that is an extension of us. Think of your aura as the sum of your mental, emotional and physical energy combined. If you are low in one or more areas, it will negatively impact your overall aura or energy field. If your aura is not very strong, you will be more susceptible to outside influence. It won’t take much to tip you over into a negative energetic frequency.
Empaths and highly sensitive people
Empaths and highly sensitive people usually have a lighter and thinner energy field. This allows them to pick up on other people’s emotions and energy more easily. They are usually highly intuitive, and can tune into Spirit more easily. The downside is these people more easily absorb the energy of others. It’s more important to learn to clear and protect your energy if you are more sensitive. In addition, it’s also vital to keep raising your vibration, and strengthening your energy field.
I pick up on everything
As an empath and highly sensitive person, I know what it’s like to pick up on everything. As a professional Reiki healer, I’m constantly opening my energy channels, and clearing negative energy off my clients. In the beginning, I wasn’t so skilled at cutting cords, clearing negative energy or detaching from people. I would get so tangled up with other people’s energy it was exhausting. There were days where I just couldn’t understand why I felt so rubbish! But as I learned tools and skills to clear, protect and cleanse, my Reiki energy grew stronger because my own energy field was clearer.
Reiki cleanses your energy
This not only helped me in my Reiki practice, but in my personal life too. Nowadays, I give myself self-Reiki every day, cut cords, and cleanse my space on a regular basis. The result is that I feel lighter, more positive, calm, and centred. I always notice if I miss a day, my energy feels off, and I can’t think clearly. I also notice if I don’t sleep well, it’s usually because I forgot to clear my energy at the end of the day, and I’ve got a clients energy still stuck in my aura. As soon as I self-Reiki, I go back to sleep and I’m good for the rest of the night.
